10th Anniversary

There has been a lot of weddings and anniversaries happening lately, and I love it. One of my favourite cards to design are wedding and anniversary cards. BOOM!

I got a request off a lovely lady to create a card based on her friends favourite artist Doug Hyde. The couple who've been together 10 years (can we have an aahhhh *aaahhhh*) love this artists work and the lady commissioning the card provided me with a bunch of Doug Hydes work. I eventually went with this design, as it spoke to me the most.

I wanted to create a card using this image as my inspiration. Here's what I came up with. I gotta say, I LOVED creating this card. Like LOVED! I didn't wanna stop. It was such a fun process from start to finish.. and because of this card I've starting pinning more 'inspiration' pictures on Pinterest for the times when my mojo is running a little dry.. which doesn't happen often.. but when it happens.. it's bad.

I die cut a whole bunch of hearts (I discovered I wasn't short of heart dies), inked the edges and curled them before I laid them on the card in a pleasing wreath shape. I then used silicone glue to adhere them so as not to lose the dimension.

I added a large sentiment panel which I stamped and silver embossed using Lawn Fawn alpha stamps and added it to a black scalloped oval before adding it to the centre of the wreath.

To tie everything together I added a few black embellishments, including some Black Onyx Liquid Pearls (which I only recently got *yipppeee* - I love the stuff), some hearts and a couple brads and buttons, you know, the usual. I coulda kept going with sequins and all that jazz, but I didn't wanna take away from the hearts, which I also sprayed with London Fog Fireworks.

I wish the couple another 10 happy years together! :) Thanks for stopping by today guys, I hope this card has provided you with some inspiration to look at stuff differently. xo

So Sentimental

Good morning guys! :) It's time for some new inspiration from me using products you can find at My Mum's Craft Shop! This week it's a whole load of stamping from me, using a couple various stamp sets, some ProMarker colouring and absolutely NO patterned paper in sight. I KNOW!! Let's get to it.

A super simple card for me, but it's one of my fave makes for a long while. It may not look as detailed as my usual makes, but it still took a good couple hours. I'm such a procrastinator when it comes to placement, colours, everything. Hah!!

I used a pretty new set from My Favorite Things for the main sentiment.
I stamped the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment three times in Blue Raspberry Hybrid ink, also from MFT, near the top of the card. I then masked that section off to stamp my details around it.

I grabbed my Bokeh Builder set from MFT and stamped the striped circles in Blue Raspberry, Cotton Candy and Spearmint Hybrid ink both above and below the senitment.

To finish it off I just had to use those little birdies from Lawn Fawn - Hello Sunshine. I stamped the little string a couple times above and below the sentiment (while still having it masked off) with Grout Gray Hybrid Ink for a place to sit my little birdies. I stamped two of them (one to look down and the other to look up) and coloured them with my ProMarkers. To add a little extra dimension to that card I cut their bodies out and adhered them with dimensionals after stamping their legs on the string.

As a finishing touch I added a sprinkling of some white Doodlebug sequins. Done.

Thank you for stopping by today. Be sure to check by the My Mum's Craft Shop BLOG for daily inspiration using the new products available at the SHOP. xo

First Day

Hey guys! :) Some Tiddly Inks goodness for ya today. This is the adorable Wryn, sitting a top a pile of books.

One of my lovely regulars wanted a card to give to her little girl for her first day of school and this image was perfect. She also requested butterflies and books and a whole load of pink. Here's what I came up with.

I used some papers from My Minds Eye, some cardstock from Hero Arts and Bazzill and went to work decorating the card front.

I used some Lawn Fawn alphas to create the custom sentiment. I stamped and embossed the sentiment in Rose Bud ink onto some more of the My Minds Eye patterned paper.

I cut some butterflies on my Cameo and added some Distress Inks in matching colours to create a watercolour look to them. I then added them around the card, including one on top of the knot with a button threaded through.

As for the rest of the card I added my usual buttons and liquid pearls as well as raiding my stash of Wild Orchid Craft flowers (which have sat neglected for a while).

For a girl who doesn't really like pink, I always love the cards I make using the colour! LOL! Thanks for stopping by guys. xo

23.08.14

Morning guys! It's a sad, sad day today. It's my last day off work, and the thought of my alarm ringing tomorrow morning is almost reducing me to tears. Never the less, I still have this entire Sunday to enjoy.

I was asked by a lady at work to create a wedding card for a couple who tied the knot yesterday. I can't say no to a pretty wedding card, plus she let me run with the colours and the design however I wanted, which is always fun.

I went with a popular (right now) colour of teal. I eventually got to use my Paperchase ribbon on a project. Yaaay!! I hand stamped their names and date using a Lawn Fawn alpha set in Versamagic and clear embossed it to give it a glossy look.

I added a whole bunch of Petal Lu goodness to the bottom left corner, along with buttons, sequins, and brands. As for the black textured panel, I embossed it using a gorgeous embossing folder which I just know I'll get getting a lot of use from.

That's all I got for ya today! Keep me in your thoughts tomorrow on my first day back! I'll be sobbing inside! LOL! Thanks for stopping by. xo

Game Controller

Hello guys. It's been incredibly quiet over on my blog lately, with my DT posts going live and that's about it. It's not like I don't have cards to share with you guys, it's just an total chore getting them typed up with this ridiculous keyboard of mine. Ohhh, laptop problems.

Anywho. I will try and correct that over the next few days and get some posts scheduled while I have the patience to type. :) I know I fall off your radars when I don't post regularly and that's the last thing I want.

Surprisingly it hasn't just been Christmas cards I've been creating lately. There is still a lot of demand for birthday cards, and wedding cards too, so you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that my blog won't be turning enitrely red, green and gold just yet.

Here is a card I created using a bunch of Silhouette cuts for a husband who is a big gamer! I thought I'd go all out and create a large controller to take centre stage on the front of the card.

I used my Paper Smooches Banners to create the sentiment above and below the large controller. I layered up some edged circles behind the whole design and I used papers from Echo Park for some boy-ish colours.

As for embellishments, I added a couple buttons, brads, liquid pearl and rhinestones. Oh, and the obligatory stars made their way into yet another male card from me. I cannot help myself!

Thanks for stopping by today. xo

Best Friends

Good morning guys! :) You're getting a post typed up in the moment this morning, there's a novelty. I quite like this off work lark! Although I'm not really managing to squeeze in much craft time, I'm still having a ball. It's just a treat to have a lie in past 6am! Hah.

So here's a little ickle card from me using some Mama Elephant goodness.

I coloured my little bunnies up with ProMarkers to match my papers from My Minds Eye Now and Then Dorothy. I created a simple little frame with some circle dies and added my bunnies to the front. I stamped a sentiment in MFT Hybrid Ink - Cotton Candy and added it to the bottom of the design.

As for embellishments I raided my little £1 MMCS Embellishments box. I added a Resin Daisy Flower, a Medium Flower Button and a clear coloured gem. I then rediscovered some die cut sequins I had cut when I first for my MFT Die-namics Sequins die.

I hope you like my mini bang of colour this morning. Happy hump day! xo

It's SKETCH Time

Morning guys! :) I can't quite believe how quickly these fortnights are coming around.. but they're coming. Ahhh, it'll be wonderful winter and autumn before we know it! Yippeee..

Anywho, let's get down to what you came here for! My inspiration for you for this weeks challenge over at Passion for ProMarkers.

This week our lovely Lou has created a sketch for us all to play with!!

Here's my take on it.

I coloured her up to be in a little black dress with some bright pink accessories. I used some papers from My Minds Eye and added a lot of black, with my matting and ribbon.

An unusual combo for me with all of the pink, but I really like how it turned out.

Be sure to stop by the Passion for ProMarkers blog and join in with the awesome sketch this week. Thanks for stopping by. xo

Birthday Wishes

Morning guys! :) It's time for some My Mum's Craft Shop inspiration for you all today, in the form of some My Favorite Things goodies!!

Short and sweet post, as this is scheduled and I wanna get my butt to bed!

I used the new Birthday Chalkboard Greetings stamp set to create the sentiment for the front of the card, which I stamped onto water colour paper I coloured with a wash of Distress Ink.

I then stamped and embossed some Sweet Roses and leaves and coloured those with some more Distress Inks before adding them to the bottom of the watercolour panel.

As a finishing touch, I added the watercolour panel to a slice of patterned paper from Echo Park We Are Family pack and added a bunch of Liquid Pearls in Onyx black around the outside.

I hope this encourages you to break out that collection of MFT I know you all have. Thanks for stopping by. xo

Santa Baby

Mooorning! :)

Time for some My Mum's Craft Shop inspiration for you all this morning.

I just know I'm gonna be colouring this little beauty up over and over this Christmas. I LOVE her dress and her cute little expression. Perfect for girls of all ages. I paired her up with some of last years Christmas papers from Echo Park.

I stamped and embossed a sentiment from MFT - Cheerful Christmas Greetings onto a piece of vellum and adhered it across the bottom of the image. Bam.

I added a bunch of liquid pearls, a hand made holly berry doodad and a bunch of buttons. Pretty CAS for me.. I think.

That's all I got for ya today! I hope you've liked some of this Christmas in August! I really gotta get the ball rolling with my Christmas makes, so I hope you're prepared to see more over the next few months! Thanks for stopping by. xo

Button It!

Good morning guys! :) This blog post is gonna be a total chore to type up.. I think I've busted my space bar.. it didn't take long did it? Meh. Onwards.

It's time for a new challenge over at Passion for ProMarkers this week! Team 1 are giving Lisa loads of BUTTONS.

Just one of my favourite things!

This week we wanna see BUTTONS!
This could be good old fashioned buttons, an image that includes buttons, button die cuts.. go crazy. I can't wait to see what you guys come up with.

We're being sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs. I chose the ever so glam Bubble Bath Sassy which my teamy Coops also used, and rocked!

I coloured her up to be a red head, just as something a little different. I gave her pink bubbles, which I ended up blinging up with time AB gems and Stickles. I really did add depth to the white bath tub with my Ice Grey PMs, but it really doesn't show up great in the photos. Perhaps I need to work on my editing skills.

Anywho, with the pink bubbles I gave the posh free standing tub some gold feet to match my papers from My Minds Eye (yet another pad I'm close to the end of) before adding a whole bunch of BUTTONS and other delicious embellishments like brads, sequins and liquid pearls.

I added some very pink stitch grosgrain ribbon, and tied a little comb charm around the knot. To finish this card off I added a sentiment from LOTV and bam. Jobs a good'n.

Thanks for stopping by today guys. Be sure to stop by the Passion for ProMarkers BLOG and join in with us.. I know you all have buttons somewhere you gotta use. xo

Go Be It

Morning guys! It's Friday, and it's the first of the month. Good things and positive thinking from here on out! ;) Let's see how long that little philosophy lasts.

A super condensed post from me this morning before I nip off to work for a canny little morning shift. Then I plan on heading to the Post Office with some parcels and spend the rest of the day tucked away at my craft desk with a jug of ice water, some biscuit spread and a whole load of wedding-y goodness. There's a lot of weddings happening this month.

I digress. I'm sure I stated back then that this was gonna be condensed.

It's time for a brand new challenge over at My Mum's Craft Shop today. Boss Lady wants to see our CLEAN AND SIMPLE cards.

I whipped up this card for the occasion using
and the die from MFT - Vertical Greetings
I used a sheet of Echo Park patterned paper and roughed the edges up, before adhering everything together and added a button, some brads and some liquid pearls.

I kept this design pretty simple as I have a recipient in mind for it, and I don't think he'd appreciate the fuss. This card took me about 40 mins to complete, which is a massive achievement for me.. I usually spend a good day creating a card.

Thank you for stopping by today. Be sure to check out the MMCS BLOG for more inspiration from the awesome DT girls for the challenge theme this week. I hope to see you joining in over there. Out. xo
