Nerds Are COOL!

Can you guys rewind your memories back to the Pollycraft Blog hop last week? Can you remember the new line of Luna Bitterfrosts?! OF COURSE YOU CAN!!

Well here she is again..

LUNA SCIENCE ROCKS

I had a total field day when Paula uploaded the new images to the DT blog - seriously. Everyone has been working away behind the scenes creating gorgeousness with these, so keep your eyes peeled through the next few weeks.

Is she not brilliant?! HA! I LOVE her oversized glasses and her lab coat with all of those pockets! So fun! :) I have coloured the whole image with ProMarkers and added some Dovecraft chalk around the outside - sorta looks like a nuclear glow! LOL!! Check out her red hair! :)

I have coloured the image to coordinate with some more papers from My Minds Eye - Oh La La for Her collection. I plan on making a card with each of these Lunas using this paper collection. Gotta use it uuuup!

I created the sentiment on Word and printed it on some of the patterned paper then added some gems either side to draw attention to it. Nerds are cool. :)

I added some stamped 'splodges' in Frayed Burlap Distress Ink around the outside of the image and doodled and distressed all edges. Some Stickles around the outside of the image finishes it off! :)

As for embellishments I added some Wild Orchid Craft flowers, as well as some pink grosgrain ribbon from The Ribbon Girl on top of a misted Prima flower aaaand some gems from Kaisercraft.

Here is a shot of the inside. I added another sentiment using a Studio G alpha set. NERD. :)

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:

GD Spot @ Deep Ocean Challenge

A few weeks ago, I was asked by my lovely friend, Alberto, if I would like to be GD for this fortnights challenge over at Deep Ocean. How could I say no?! Some AHmazing talent on that DT, they always provide such awesome inspiration.

This fornight they have a very simple challenge

'HEART'

How you interpret that is up to you - I can't wait to see what you all come up with. It could be a shaped card or loads of heart embellishments. A heart centre piece such as a shaker box or little heart details in the forms of stamps or chipboard pieces. Just a few little ideas for ya! The choice is yours!!

Here is what I came up with..

As for the 'HEART' on my project.. There are a few hearts on the Some Odd Girl image itself, alongside that I have added a green heart stick pin through my seam binding and some sentiments which include little hearts on the letters. Finally I have stamped opposite corners of my patterned paper with a little heart from another Some Odd Girl set in Frayed Burlap DI. I think that just about covers it.

I always try to paper piece the socks on my SOG images, I think it helps tie the whole card together and ensures your image coordinates well with the patterned paper you've used. I love Kaylee's expression in this image and her stripey arm warmers are just the best! Such a fun image to colour.

Here is a close up of the embellishments and sentiments. I love to add bows to my cards using my bow easy tool. I think I have a ribbon addiction and own FAR too much! All flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts and everything else is from The Ribbon Girl.

Here is a quick shot of the inside of my card - decorated to match the front. Quick and easy way to use scraps.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:

Pollycraft Challenge #108 - *Felt*

Time for another challenge over at Pollycraft Challenge!! Excited?! I am.

Before I give you the deets.. who enjoyed our blog hop last week?! Was it not AWEsome?! Paula and the Team ROCK!! They've seriously blown-me-away!!

So, it's WINNER TIME!! The winner of LUNA BITTERFROST - GUITARS ROCK is..

Congratulations. If you wanna drop me an email I'll get it sent over to ya ASAP! :)

So.. this week we want to see..

FELT

on your creations. Unusual, right? FUN!!

Ahhhh, I just had to get Swings and Slides 'Deck The Halls' - All the Trimmings coloured up. She is adorable! I've coloured her in traditional colours with splashes on pink here and there to tie in with my patterned paper and card base. I have used Everybody Loves Christmas patterned paper from Echo Park alongside some yummy ribbon and bakers twine from The Ribbon Girl.

I have coloured her little nightdress in a rich red to match my felt embellishments. I created the flowers using a die from PTI and some red felt I've had lying around forEVA. The entire image has been coloured using ProMarkers and I've cut it out into a panel instead of the usual fussy cutting.

Here is a shot of the removable tag with a cute little sentiment from LOTV - it hasn't showed up too well in the picture, but it is readable! :)

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× Crafts 4 Eternity - Christmas Theme

Sentimental Sundays #70 - Back to School

Good morning Sunday! :) By the time this post goes live my mother and her partner will be on the way to the airport for their yearly holiday. I'll admit, Lou home alone for two weeks poses its dangers - but I'll be fineee! :) Means I actually get to have a lie in on my days off, I cannot WAIT!

Enough of the small talk. I wanna introduce you to the new challenge over at Sentimental Sundays this week. I know I've been slacking lately, but I think I'm finally settling into my work schedule and have eventually managed to get my time organised. Please forgive me.

So this week us sentimental fools want to see projects for

BACK TO SCHOOL

I decided to go all out and make a 'journal page' if you could even call it that. As soon as I seen the title for the challenge I had the PERFECT image in mind.. and then when my monthly kit from Sarahs Cards LTD popped through my door last week I also had the PERFECT sentiments to go with it.

So here it is..

I have coloured the image using ProMarkers and used papers from my monthly kit. I will list all supplies at the end. This cutie is called High School Student, she is a Simply Sassy and you can get her HERE at Funky Kits.

I apologise now for my horrendous hand writing, you don't need to tell me how bad it is, I get told on an almost daily basis from close friends and family.

Please head on over to the challenge blog now to see what can be won and looksie at what the other awesome ladies have got in store for ya this week.

May all the days ahead..

Hello, hello. Sorry for the late post. I gotta do this quick before the XFactor starts though. ;) (Let's see if I can make it..) I'm not a huge fan, I just like the giggles you get out of it. Some of the people that go on that show cannot POSSIBLY think they can really sing!! Can they?!

The title of this post may be a bit of a mystery.. but it will all become clear soon.

You may look at these pictures and think.. but they're the same? Well.. you'd be right.. kinda.

These are two wedding cards commissions I've received lately. Both of the 'customers' wanted an elegant.. yet generic wedding card. So this is what I went with.

I used a combo of Elegant Soiree patterned paper and Baja Breeze and Soft Suede cardstock from SU! - perfect combos. Blue and brown are always a winner when it comes to weddings.

There are subtle differences between (XFactor has started *rolls eyes*) the two, as I always try to make my cards OOAK. Whenever it is a special card which will be hand delivered I make a display box with an acetate lid. It's more glam than an envelope and gives the recipient something to keep the card in if they'd like it as a keepsake. Plus I like making them! :)

Here is a shot of the inside of the second card. Clean and simple for the giver to write their message to the reciever! LOL. :)

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask! :)

I'm busy stuffing my face with popcorn with my feet up in front of the TV at the moment. I had a long day at work - it draaagged so much. I was glad when I got home. I have a few DT cards to make tonight in quick time so that will keep me busy until bed. I managed to get a Sassy image coloured up last night so she is ready to be put on a card. Keep your eyes peeled for that tomorrow! ;) She is one of my all time FAVES!

Anywho, take it easy.

Old News

Back to work today after a lovely day off yesterday. My and the boyfriend went to Druridge Bay Country Park for our dinner, and we sat on a wooden bench at the top of a hill overlooking the lake. Bliss. :)

So the whole point of todays post..

Some of you may remember I blogged about new colour combos using my ProMarkers in THIS post. Well a while ago now, I bought some Spectrum Noirs from Pops to try out. I only got the pink set - so six sets in total. I wanted to see for myself what all of the hoohar was about. Let me tell you.. hoohar is exactly what it is.

The image on the left has been coloured using two different 'combos'. The largest section of her hair has been coloured using 15, 86 and 8 and the left hand side has been coloured using 86, 88 and 8. Wasn't feeling either of them. So the image in the middle is another attempt using the combo: 88, 137 and 147, which I like a little better.

So the whole 'set's Crafter's Companion have put together totally don't work for me. Obviously I need to try out a few more combos first before I fully decide. I have used Neenah cardstock which is what they recommend, but the Noirs are so juicy that they soak they cardstock almost instantly.

Compared to the image on the right, which has been coloured using ProMarkers I don't think the Noirs even come close.

Over and out.

Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges #34 - Use Music Sheets

*slaps own wrists*

Yet ANOTHER week has gone by without a TPS card from me. Okay, so this is only the second week, but I don't want the boss girl or you guys to think I'm slipping. In reality, I probably am.. but I refuse to believe that, or come to terms with the whole deal. So I'm just going to plod on. Any complaints?!

This week over at TPS the girls wanna see..

MUSIC SHEETS

Easy, peasy.. yes? Head on over to the CHALLENGE BLOG now to see what the other awesome ladies have got in store for ya!!

I had to email Kellie to apologise last night - I felt so bad. One of the reasons she took me on for the next six months was because I always had projects in on time. Well look at me now. Who knew?

Take it easy - and I hope you get a chance to join in this week.. unlike moi.

Some Odd Girl Challenge - ::*Paper Piecing*::

It was officially three weeks on Monday that the new term started for us newbies and vets over at Some Odd Girl. Can you believe it?! I know I sure can't - the time has flown by.. I just hope the rest of the time doesn't fly too fast - I've been having a blast. Although most of the girls will probably say I've been like a little mouse - I've been keeping up to date on the action over on the DT blog. Boy oh boy, these girls are TALENTED!!

Okay, so enough of the waffle.. time for another challenge over at Some Odd Girl.. incase you hadn't guessed already. This time round want to see..

PAPER PIECING

Something I just LOVE doing.. something I used to do all of the time, and something I wish I done a lot more of.

So.. here you have

Almost every part of her that was paper piece-able.. has been paper pieced, except her little shrug. I coloured her skin, hair and shrug using ProMarkers and fussy cut her out leaving a little white border. I have added some Souffle pen to her eyes.. and guess what I've just noticed?.. In fact, I'm going to see if you guys can tell first. All crafters say we should never point our mistakes, right?

I have used some papers from First Edition Hideaway collection - at first I was REALLY unsure about them.. they so aren't me.. but I forced myself to use them.. and I actually quite like how the card turned out. Half of the pack are specialty papers with glitter and stuff, so I used those for the paper piecing parts, the other half are double sided patterns which I used for the rest of the card.

I stamped the scalloped oval from the stamp set onto some more of the specialty paper and cut it out, leaving a border. I then stamped the oval again onto kraft and cut out the centre to form a panel for my sentiment from PTI stamped in Sage Shadow.

Lastly I added some WOC goodness and some Prima Pearls along with some Seafoam coloured sheer ribbon from The Ribbon Girl - but it is almost too sheer to see against the papers, although the colour match is perfect! LOL. Don't you just love that? When you buy new patterned paper and you find loads of inks and papers and embellishments you already have in your stash that match? Magical moment! :)

Here is a peak at the inside of the card, with a slice of the same patterned paper from the front, alongside a yellow pearl brad and a message panel with the same Thank You sentiment from PTI. All edges have been distressed and doodled. You know I gotta! ;)

Be sure to head on over to the challenge blog to check out what the other girls have got for ya this week! ;) Sweet Thinkin' Mae is a star attraction this time round - me thinks she lends herself well to paper piecing.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× Bearly Mine - Bring on the Bling

× Paper Playtime - Anything Goes
× Paper Creations - Show us Flowers

This card can also be found at:

LUNA BITTERFROST 'DARE TO BE DIFFERENT' COLLECTION
**GUITARS ROCK**
All of the images from this hop will be released on Monday 29th August over at Pollycraft. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled.

Check out her PINK hair and the whole overall general PINKness of the card. You like? I think I do! :) A couplea weeks ago - it seems like forever ago now - I was trying out some new colour combos and I thought hell, this rock chick needs some funky hair!! So I coloured this image to match some ooold papers from My Minds Eye - Oh La La for Her collection and ran with the whole pink theme.

I designed the layout as I went as I couldn't find a sketch I was feeling at the time. I have added a slice of patterned paper at a jaunty angle which I really like and an embossed strip near the bottom which I have wound some ribbon from The Ribbon Girl around and added a cute little bow.

I added some light blue chalk from Dovecraft around the outside of the image to make it pop and cut it out leaving a border big enough for a sentiment and some little stars dotted about. All stamps are from Papertrey Ink - Star Prints collection stamped in SU! Pretty in Pink.

I have distressed and doodled all edges with Distress Ink and a brown fineliner. I also added some Star Dust Stickles around the outside of the piece with my image on. For some extra embellishment I have added some WOC goodness and some Prima pearls and gems.

Here is a shot at the inside of the card. It's sort of a simpler version of the front with the same star pattern down the right hand side which you can't see all the well on the front. Again I have distressed and doodled all edges and added the same sentiment!

DON'T FORGET!!
All you gotta do to win this rock chick is leave a comment and place the blog hop logo on your sidebar.. then a winner will be drawn ready for my challenge post on Monday 29/08.

Think PINK..

..Is what the lady told me at the fayre when she asked me to make a bookmark for her grand daughter. If you know me - you will know that I'm not a huge fan of pink, but I don't mind working with it in little quantities.

Good job she only wanted a bookmark. Heehee.

I used the ever so cute Bookish Tia from Some Odd Girl, because I just love her and her bag! I gotta colour it in rainbow style every time!! <3

I coloured her in using only PM's (no Copics here! :)) and fussy cut her out. I tried to colour her to match the little strips of paper I used from MME Life of the Party collection. The bookmark is made from Pretty in Pink cardstock from SU! and I have used the ribbon to match. Looking at the photo now, do you know what I forgot?! The white detailing on her eyes!! Bummer!

I stamped the sentiment 'READ' using alpha stamps from Studio G and used the worlds smallest circle punch to punch them out.

I added my doodling - but no distressing this time round, along with some gems from Prima and Candy Cane Stickles.

I hope it's pink enough for her! I really enjoyed making it :)

***********************************************************

I have had so many commissions lately and I feel on top of the world with it all!! People think my work is good enough to give to other people! :) It didn't help matters that nearly everything got put on hold over the weekend until my printer ink arrived. But us crafters do what we can, right? It was a good excercise for me and my rubber! Although sentiments were limited - we got there in the end!

***********************************************************

I'm still attempting to make a start on my first ever set of wedding stationary - I just want to get it all straight in my head first before I start and go wasting a whole load of cardstock and what have you! If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please throw them my way! :)

***********************************************************

Ohhhh, and before I forget!!

DON'T FORGET TO STOP BY TOMORROW 08:00AM - POLLYCRAFT BLOG HOP WITH NEW RELEASE.

You WON'T wanna miss this!

Pollycraft Challenge #107 - *Autumn Colours*

I hope you guys have had an awesome weekend!! I had a long day at work on Saturday, then I went out for my Sunday dinner on Sunday afternoon and got crafty for the rest of the day. A few more commissions and DT cards down, a few more still to go. But we're getting there. I have today off too, then I'm doing a four hour shift tomorrow. So..Another Monday, another Pollycraft Challenge!! ;)

Lemme just tell ya - Paula has been SPOILING us these past few weeks. All I'm gonna say is.. you DON'T wanna miss the BLOG HOP! Be here on Wednesday guys!!

So.. the deets for this week.. we wanna see

AUTUMN COLOURS

Ohhhh yum! I so wanted to do a halloween themed card - but then I got my eye on Sonny Honey Cloud - Poetry and just had to colour her up.

I paired her up with a sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps - how perfect, please?! I have put this card together using papers from Basic Grey Max and Whiskers collection. This just goes to show a line, which you might think has been specifically designed for pets, can be used for numerous other designs. A lot of the papers are simple and generic - and the colours are very autumny! :)

I die cut the sentiment using a nesties label four and doodled and distressed all edges of my paper. The striped twill and bakers twine is from The Ribbon Girl and I added various Prima to the design. My whole image has been coloured using PM's - I have well and truely found a new love for these beauties!!

I have, as always, decorated the inside of the card using the same paper and a slice of white cardstock. I have torn two of the edges on each piece of patterned paper for a bit of a different look.

I would like to enter this card into these challenges:
× The Poodles Parlour - Anything Goes
× Art Impression - Anything Goes
× Craft Us Crazy - Anything Goes
× Basic Grey - Anything Goes

Catch Up

Hi guys. Once again.. apologies for the tumble weed and all that passing by this last week or so. Everything has just been go, go, go.

If anyone seen my status on FB last night - I sat and die cut 50 individuals tags and threaded them all with bakers twine for a custom order. I hope the lady likes them - they took me over an hour to make (whoch is not long, I know).. but I was meant to be having an early night. I didn't get to bed til after 11!!

Anywho, here is picture for you all.

They were simple two inch tags - cut with my slice. I made them using some gorgeous linen thread from Papercuts. She wants them for prices so I kept them large enough to be readable but not so they take over the item.

I threaded some black bakers twine from The Ribbon Girl through each tag. I think they look so cute all lined up like that. I took the photo late at night on top of my ironing board - so the photo has a yellowish tinge.

As for my post yesterday about the nothing for months and then 10 opportunities at once.
#1) Booking up for craft fayres and the commissions which have arisen from that
#2) Awesome feedback from my thank you cards I gave to people after my birthday
#3) My cards are now in place in a local, new balloon/fancy dress shop. The owner is a roar and has a lot of plans for the shop. She wants me to put together a wedding stationary set for display in the shop window so I can take orders.

ANY IDEAS FOR WEDDING STATIONARY - EITHER DESIGN IDEAS, QUANTITIES OR PRICES - WELCOME!! LEAVE ME A MESSAGE OR DROP ME AN EMAIL.

and of course #4) All of the AH-mazing design teams I am UBER proud to be a part of. I want to thank all of my awesome bosses and teamies!! Ahh you guys and girls ROCK!!

Tickled Pink Stamp Challenges #33 - ANYTHING GOES

ANYTHING GOES

Nice and eaaasy for ya - right?!

I hope you can join in this time round!! Sorry I haven't got a card to show ya today - this past week has been so hectic.

How comes months can go by and literally NOTHING happens, and then like 10 opportunities come along at once?! MADNESS. At least it will all keep me on my toes!!

I was going to make a start on some more commissions I have recently received, but guess what? I'm out of printer ink!! So instead.. I'm off to cabbage in front of the TV and die cut FIFTY, yes FIVE ZERO, tags with my Slice for a lovely lady who wants them for price tags for some items she knits. I think. Well, I gotta get them done anyway! :)

Got a 10-2 shift tomorrow then I'm around my friends tomorrow night for a very late birthday celebration/ catch up! :) Over and out.

2 PATTERNED PAPERS
1 PIECE OF LACE

Fun, right! :) Our sponsor this week is Just Some Lines.

Since my bookmarks were a sell-out at the fayre on Friday - I decided I best get some more made. So here you have it..

Another addicting corner bookmark - funny, everytime I sit down to make one of these I always want to make more. Perhaps I should force myself to make another one and then my mojo might sprout all over!! :)

I've used some of the gorgeous Bo Bunny - Gabrielle patterned paper (#1). I have stamped a very popular (with the public) sentiment from Paper Makeup Stamps in Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink and die cut it using a Labels Sixteen nestie. I have added my custom doodles and some Stickles around the outside edge. #1 embellishment. I added a strip of yummy lace from The Ribbon Girl below my strip of patterned paper #2 and cut the ends slightly longer than the bookmark. I sorta love the 'rustic' shabby chic look it gives. As for embellishment #2 I added the must have WOC flower - a sweetheart blossom and a semi open rose and embellishment #3 some Kaisercraft rhinestones and pearls. :)

I would like to enter this bookmark into these challenges:
